Four months already... where has the time gone. Cooper, you have brought so much joy to our lives and continue to do so every.single.day. We have so much fun with you!
Weight: 16.5lbs {75%}
Height: 24in {35%}
Feedings: This month you have been so incredibly weird with your feedings. You're still about every 3 hours but if we are out and about you can go 4 hours. You still are eating about 6oz every time. A couple times at night you've eaten up to 11oz.. probably why you weigh 16.5 pounds already! Lord help us now! Also, you've recently started to want to chew on your hands as well as your bottle which is causing eating time to be very hard. I have to pretty much pin your arms down for you to eat a whole bottle! You're such a funny little boy. You move all over the place while trying to eat. If the TV is on or someone is in the room you want to see, you have a hard time eating. We also started you on cereal at about 3 1/2 months. You did ok with the spoon but we put it in your bottle at night.... we try the spoon every couple days!
Sleeping: You were sleeping through the night. You would go to bed between 8 and 9 and sleep until 5:30/6am and then would go right back to sleep till 8/9/10am. This was great! Gave mom time to either a. catch up on sleep as well or b. get things done around the house before you got up for the day. You typically are up for 1.5hrs then you take a short 30/45min nap in the morning and then take a good long 2/3 hour nap in the afternoon. You CANNOT put yourself to sleep and it's a pain! If we aren't at home where you are in your swing for your nap, you fight sleep and get grumpy! You won't take Fred {paci} anymore and you don't really suck on your thumb.. if anything you chew them and that isn't soothing for you. You recently have started sucking/eating blankets but again ti doesn't sooth you but helps some. I have NO clue how to get you to start getting yourself to sleep... praying for guidance on this one! Right around 4 months you've regressed a little and have been getting up once a night to eat... not sure where this came from but I did read on a friends blog her little boy did this as well and she read it was natural. Hoping you go to all night again soon!! :)
Clothes/Diapers: Well, you're in 3-6 or 6 month jammies. I still put you in some 3month clothes but we can tell they are about to make their way to the "too small" pile. This makes momma sad! WHY are you growing up so quick!!! You're in 2 month diapers- wouldn't be surprised if you're out of them sooner rather than later! We don't swaddle you anymore so no more sizes in them :)
Milestones:
*Rolling from back to stomach- you will not lay on your back- you automatically flip over then you get mad because you hate tummy time and will not flip yourself back over..
*Chewing on chew toys {you are teething. Your doctor said "i wouldn't be surprise if he doesn't have a couple teeth next time I see you- great}
*You manage to pull yourself around- esp when you're in your bed or on your play mat. You pull on the mat and turn yourself around! I can leave you one way and turn around and turn back and you're in a totally different position!
*You can sit- not perfectly yet, but you're getting there. You are obsessed with your feet so instead of sitting up straight, you bend over!
*You eat your feet ;)
*You're getting more hair... yay!
*You play with toys a lot now
*You're laughing out loud all the time... adorable.
*You've learned to splash- bath times are crazy! More water is out of your tub then in by the end. You
love it!
love it!
Likes:
*Outside is still your number 1 favorite- or just feeling the outside air.. we could be driving in the car and if you're grumpy I just roll the window down and you're instantly a silent baby!
*Your jumper- you love the toys on it and you're turning yourself all the way around playing with the toys!
*Your hand- you love putting your fingers on your bottom gums and chewing on them.. i'm assuming it feels good your gums.
*When people talk to you- you just smile and laugh.
*You always want to be moving- being shaken, vibration, flying in the air, standing/jumping.. anything- this makes you happy! :)
Dislikes:
*going to sleep {see above}
*sometimes when you're really tired and we go to change your diaper you don't like that
*getting too hungry
*burping - if you're not ready for a nap you won't lay still to allow me to burp you so I've starting sitting you and burping you that way- you burp just as good so it works.
*your bumbo - you won't sit in it- your legs are too 'thick'
*getting in your car seat - but once you get in you're fine.
really- you're a super happy baby. We've had multiple people ask us "is he always this happy" why yes you are :)
Other:
*First T-bones game- of course you loved it because it was baseball
*First long road trip- you were a champ
*First vacation to Dalhart, TX
*You had a lick of lime and liked it
*Sucked on watermelon {LOVED THIS} and honeydew
*Ate first solid: rice cereal
*You've learned to kick your feet really hard if you get mad enough... awesome. 4 months and can already knows how to throw fits.
* You sit in your highchair and play with your toys while we eat or if mom needs to get anything done.. it's great.
*Grandma Boan taught you how to vibrate your lips together, and you spit instead of making a noise.. it's rather cute but with the amount of drool coming out of our mouth it's a water fall instead of cute little bubbles.
* You WILL NOT let go of your feet- you've totally found them and love them. They've made their way to your mouth as well. Gah you're cute!
*You are ON THE GO.. always moving. If anyone holds you they say "why you have to hold on to him.." always moving- My doctor once told me "you need to trade your work shoes in for running shoes" and he nailed that one on the head.
