At work, I gchat with two of my girlfriends and as soon as I told them we were pregnant we started planning a girl nursery and a boy nursery. It took us a little bit longer to plan the boys than the girls. I'm not a huge fun of all the themed sports themed or jungle or any of that, so it took me a while to find the boys. About a week before we found out we would be having a little boy, I found the perfect inspiration for a little boys room. The day after we found out it was on..we had the entire nursery planned and I want to share my ideas with you!!
1.) This is the photo I found that inspired the western/pony print theme! Regardless of how much their room may have cost, we're doing ours the cheap way!! You can check out the room here!
2.) Since a cowhide rug is beyond our budget, I'm switching it up with the pony print crib bumper. I'll use cheap crib sheets so it offsets the price of the bumper. Most "sets" are that price range or more. Make sure you check out how AWESOME the inside of the bumper is.
3.) Since I need a little more red, we're going with a bright red area rug for some pop! I'm using a chair that's in the family so we won't be having a red chair, although I really like it!
4.) I love love love the look of the wood lamp- I found an awesome website for a DIY wood lamp so plan on making one for the dresser!
5.) If you look closely you'll see on the original inspiration picture that there is a wood wall behind the crib. I decided the room wouldn't be the same without it- and luckily my dad has a whole barn of awesome wood that we'll be using!
6.) This rope name is awesome but refuse to pay $50 bucks. So I ordered some old rope off etsy for a whooping $12 and plan on making this on my own! Since his name will be kept secret until he arrives, this piece won't go up until he's here! :)
7.) We haven't gone to look at cribs in person yet- but from searching online I found one that I really really like and hope I like it in person- this DaVinci Parker 4 n 1 crib would be perfect for his nursery! Love the dark wood!
8.) Last but not least- to complete the pony print theme, the same Etsy shop who has the bumper also has the changing pad cover that totally rocks!
I'm hoping that it all comes together as well as it looks in my head/on paper! We'll have more accents here and there but these are the main focal points!
What do you think of Baby J's Nursery?
