Where are you?

This Sunday's Sermon @ Indian Creek pastor Gary did a great job of concluding our sermon series over "Sync" over Spiritual Growth. I promise I am not going to blog every sermon I hear- however, this one spoke to me and I thought I should share it. It will be brief and to the point.

Our goal: Become like Jesus
The Question: How do we become like Jesus?

The Stages:

1. Explore Faith
  • See after the truth and follow it!
  • You will have to make faith choice.
2. Begin
  • God IS something
  • This is the stage where your relationship with HIM starts to grow
3. Following
  • God is a BIG thing to you
  • you put God in the center and He becomes the practice of your life
  • when you stop obeying HIM you stop growing
4. Sent
  • We have given God everything
  • I'M ALL IN- I'M LIVING LIFE ON A MISSION

So, what's NEXT? HOW do we GROW?
  1. Worship God everyday- on our own: Come, Let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our maker, for he is our God. We are the people he watches over, the flock under his care. Psalm 95:6-7.
  2. Bible Study- if your church doesn't have a bible study for you- check out India Creek's Community Groups to find a group that fits your needs. You can also check out youversion - a sight designed to help you grow in the word. Check it out.
  3. Prayer- have a conversation, praise Him, ask him to speak to you- then listen.
  4. Quiet Time- Journal your questions, prayers, concerns, thoughts, etc, address them to God, then Thank him (write it all down)
  5. Take time to unplug- turn all your phone, computer, tv and LISTEN to Him.
  6. Service- giving yourself away-- you will see God in your life.

Jesus also said, “The Kingdom of God is like a farmer who scatters seed on the ground. 27 Night and day, while he’s asleep or awake, the seed sprouts and grows, but he does not understand how it happens. 28 The earth produces the crops on its own. First a leaf blade pushes through, then the heads of wheat are formed, and finally the grain ripens. 29 And as soon as the grain is ready, the farmer comes and harvests it with a sickle, for the harvest time has come.”

Farmer= GOD
Seed = HIS WORD
Soil= US

The farmer expects the seeds to grow just like Jesus expects us to grow.

Where are you at in your spiritual walk: Exploring, beginner, following, or sent? Make a choice.

Have a wonderful God filled week.

Much love,

LJ
