THE FIREFIGHTERS PRAYER
wherever flames may rage
give me strength to save a life
whatever be its age
before it is too late
or save an older person from
the horror of that fate
to hear the weakest shout
and quickly and efficiently
to put the fire out
to give the best in me
to guard my neighbor and
protect his property
I have to lose my life
bless with your protecting hand
my children and my wife.
Words don't express what it's like to be married to a FF. Everyday J goes to the station I just pray that God brings him home the next day. I pray that God allows me to adapt of to the life of a FF wife- as it's hard and scary. I am lucky enough to have friends who are older and wiser who have FF as husbands that I can look up to and friends and family who are an awesome support system.
Words just can't really explain (hence the super short post) the feeling of marrying someone who everyday lays his life down for others- it's truly an inspiration to me. J is the most God loving, big-hearted, kind, loving man I know (ok besides my daddy) and I am so ready for this journey God is putting us on.
Those of you who pray for me, for us, for J- keep this in your prayers.
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
